Djembe can make smile

CHILDREN at Camborne's Trevithick Learning Academy were delighted to be given the chance to be as noisy as they could.
Visitor Denis Kigongo, from Senegal in west Africa, demonstrated the art of drumming to the youngsters and they couldn't wait to join in.

He brought 30 calf-skinned djembe drums and worked with classes throughout the school.
The day was a resounding and noisy success, said organiser Kathleen Hampshire.
"We were delighted with Denis's visit and were very pleased that the children were able to get such a strong feel for the culture of Senegal," she said.
"At the end of the day they performed what they'd learned and everybody walked out with a smile on their face."
